What to Watch on Monday: Get on up for ‘Mr. Dynamite’

Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown (9 p.m., HBO) – Mick Jagger produced this profile of profoundly influential soul singer James Brown (1933-2006), which features material from his estate’s archives and focuses on his music and social activism. The documentary has interviews with his former bandmates, including North Carolina native Maceo Parker, saxophone player, and Clyde Stubblefield, drummer.

2 Broke Girls (8 p.m ., CBS) – Season 4 begins with a TV producer approaching Max and Caroline about shooting an episode of a Kardashian reality show at their cupcake window. Unfortunately, Kim Kardashian makes a guest appearance.

Gotham (8 p.m., Fox) – A killer targets Gotham elite’s firstborn children, and the case brings back painful memories for Det. Bullock. Elsewhere, Gordon is forced to deal with the consequences of his past decisions.

Jane the Virgin (9 p.m ., CW) – Jane contemplates making a big change in her relationship with Michael – a change that could remove the v-word from the title of this show.

Sleepy Hollow (9 p.m., Fox) – Sheriff Corbin’s son returns to Sleepy Hollow after serving in combat, but his unusual behavior makes Abbie and Ichabod suspicious.
