What to Watch on Friday: From Bing Crosby to Kool & the Gang

Bing Crosby Rediscovered (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – A repeat of the American Masters profile of Bing Crosby, which includes home movies, Dictabelt recordings, and photos and insights from the crooner’s family.

Also on tonight . . .

Now That’s Funny (8 p.m., CBS) – A backstage look at TV comedies, including interviews with actors, producers and writers, and a peek inside table readings and brainstorming sessions in writers’ rooms. Some of the shows featured are “Big Bang Theory,” “Modern Family” and “Parks and Recreation.”

Soul Train Awards (9 p.m., BET) – Another good repeat – this one with performances and appearances by Jodeci, Missy Elliott, Trey Songz, Nico & Vinz and Lil Kim, plus a Kool & the Gang tribute that culminates with the group receiving the much deserved Legend Award.

Brad Meltzer’s Lost History (10 p.m., History 2) – This installment includes footage from D-Day, Franklin Roosevelt’s inaugural address, and a guitar that belonged to George Harrison.
