What to Watch on Wednesday: Pop channel debuts solid new comedy

Schitt’s Creek (10 p.m., POP) – In the premiere of a solidly funny new comedy series, the Rose family loses their fortune and move to a dumpy town they once purchased as a joke. Johnny Rose ( Eugene Levy) wants to sell the town, but first he must receive permission. Catherine O’Hara plays Mrs. Rose. This is the first scripted TV series from the Pop channel, formerly the TV Guide Network.

Arrow (8 p.m., CW) – Vertigo causes Laurel to hallucinate an epic fight that pits her Black Canary against her sister Sara.

L&O: SVU (9 p.m., NBC) – A woman launches a video game amid death threats in the male-dominated gaming community, and then one of her female employees is assaulted at a big video game convention.

Empire (9 p.m., Fox) – Lucious asks Cookie to manage a star who hasn’t produced an album in years. Then, a mystery woman from the family’s past shows up with a big – and not particularly welcome – surprise.

Black-ish (9:30 p.m., ABC) – Dre vows to make Valentine’s Day a romantic success, even though most years he and Bow end up quarreling on the holiday.

The Americans (10 p.m., FX) – Elizabeth and Philip find themselves in an increasingly dangerous situation, while Stan monitors Zinaida.
