Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - The family go to Australia when Phil hopes to fulfill his mother’s wish to visit the country where he was conceived, but the locals aren’t quite ready to welcome him as a native son.

Also on tonight . . .

Nature: Snow Monkeys (8pm, UNC-TV) - A look at a troop of snow monkeys that lives in Japan’s frigid Shiga Highlands. The primates have a complex, structured society, so it’s surprising when the new leader -- a solitary figure that’s something of a grouch -- bonds with a little monkey that’s ignorant of its own low rank. Awww!

The Middle (8pm, ABC) - Rita’s noisy wind chimes annoy the Hecks, so Frankie begs her to remove them. Also, Sue tells her family that she and Darrin have rekindled their romance.

The Americans (10pm, FX) - A botched mission impacts Philip and Elizabeth in different ways, while Stan’s personal life unravels.
