What to Watch on Tuesday: ‘American Epic’ features the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers

American Epic (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – A new series about how ordinary Americans were given the opportunity to make records for the first time. In the first of this three-part series, the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers and the Memphis Jug Band make their first records on a portable electronic recording system.
