Raleigh native Evan Rachel Wood is once again nominated for an Emmy award, this time for her role in the HBO sci-fi/western drama “Westworld.”
Wood plays Dolores on the show, an artificially intelligent “host” programmed to be a sort of damsel in distress for guests at the Abernathy ranch.
“Westworld” was nominated for 22 Emmys, the most for any drama this year. Wood’s nomination is in the Best Actress in a Drama Series category. She has also been nominated for a Golden Globe for this same role.

The actress told Entertainment Weekly that she wasn’t watching the nomination broadcast Thursday morning and didn’t know about her nomination until her phone started going crazy: “It’s wonderful. I’ve been speaking to my castmates all morning and I’m so proud of them and the show, and everyone involved works so hard on it and loves it so much. It’s just a wonderful feeling when it’s a perfect storm like this.”
Wood was also nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in 2011 for her part in the HBO movie “Mildred Pierce.”
