Happiness is a Warm TV

What to Watch on Monday: ‘Jane’ + Peabody = must watch

Jane the Virgin (9 p.m., CW) – In this Peabody Award-winning freshman drama (you heard that right!), Jane desperately wants to fix things with Rafael (whose broody-angry thing is driving me back over to Team Michael fast). Also, Xo is surprised by Rogelio’s reaction when she reveals a secret, and Petra is in a dangerous situation with Aaron/Roman. “Jane” is certainly commendable for its creative storytelling and positive portrayal of Latin Americans, and Gina Rodriguez is great in the lead role. But the brilliant Rogelio character (Jaime Camil) is what makes me head-over-heels for this show. Watch!!

Also on tonight . . . .

Gotham (8 p.m., Fox) – The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia) targets someone close to Gordon, while Bruce and Selina work together to expose corruption at Wayne Enterprises.

Scorpion (9 p.m., CBS) – In the Season 1 finale, the fractured team must come together for their most important mission yet when Walter’s car ends up dangling at the edge of a cliff.

The Following (9 p.m., Fox) – After the latest discovery, Ryan and the new killer are both led back to Joe for different reasons.

The Great Invisible (10 p.m., UNC-TV) – An Independent Lens documentary chronicling the continuing effects of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Castle (10 p.m., ABC) – A puzzling recurring dream inspires Castle and Beckett to seek new answers about Castle’s mysterious two-month disappearance. Their search for the truth is a dangerous one.
