Recent comings and goings at WRAL
In December, WRAL announced that Brad Johansen of WKRC in Cincinnati will join the station as an anchor in April.
Earlier that month, it was announced that Jeff Hogan, from WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, would join the station Jan. 29. Hogan will replace longtime anchor Bill Leslie, who will retire in June.
In addition to Leslie, three other anchors have announced since September 2017 that they are leaving: Lynda Loveland, David Crabtree and Gina Benitez.
Loveland left Dec. 1 for a communications job with Farm Bureau. Kathryn Brown took over Loveland’s spot. Crabtree will retire in late 2018. Benitez will leave WRAL in March but has not yet announced her plans.
Additionally, in November, longtime reporter Julia Sims left for a communications job with the city of Raleigh and meteorologist Nate Johnson left to be director of weather operations at NBC Universal.
