Happiness is a Warm TV

TV snow coverage means a white-out for soaps. Here’s how to watch.

The snow disrupted more than schools and businesses on Wednesday – it also messed up everyone’s stories on the TV.

▪ WRAL’s extended storm coverage preempted “Days of Our Lives” at 1 p.m., which they moved to the over-the-air channel 5.2 and to their Spectrum digital channel 1255.

▪ WNCN’s coverage preempted “The Bold and the Beautiful” at 1:30 p.m. and “The Young and the Restless” at 4 p.m. WNCN will show “The Young and the Restless” at 2 a.m. and the “The Bold and the Beautiful” at 3 a.m.

▪ WTVD’s “General Hospital,” which normally airs at 3 p.m., will instead air later tonight after “Nightline.”

If you missed anything

You can watch “Days of Our Lives” online at https://www.nbc.com/days-of-our-lives/episodes. The website did not prompt me for any kind of log-in info.

You can watch “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” on the CBS site, but they require a paid subscription to CBS All Access, which costs $5.99 per month. (Note: The site right now is offering your first five episodes of Y&R for free and the first 10 episodes of B&B for free.)

See “The Young and the Restless” at http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_young_and_the_restless.

See “The Bold and the Beautiful” at http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_bold_and_the_beautiful.

Watch “General Hospital” on the ABC site at http://abc.go.com/shows/general-hospital, but you’ll need to sign in with a cable or satellite subscription account (or with credentials from a streaming service such as Sling, Hulu, Playstation Vue or DirecTV Now).
