May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers (8 p.m., HBO) – This Judd Apatow-produced and directed documentary about North Carolina’s Avett Brothers finally hits TV. The documentary tracks their rise from obscurity to critical acclaim and commercial success. Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio had extensive access to the band for more than two years, making it able for them to depict the lifelong bond and partnership of the band members as they experience marriage, divorce, parenthood, illness and challenges of their profession. The documentary features original footage of the Avetts in the studio, on the road and at home; unseen family photos and home movies; never-before-heard songs and concert performances; and interviews with band members. “May It Last” will also be available on HBO On Demand, HBO NOW and HBO GO.
