What to Watch on Monday: ‘Becoming Us’ tracks dad’s transition

Becoming Us (9 p.m., ABC Family) – In the very timely premiere of this unscripted series, a Midwestern teenager named Ben struggles with school as his father transitions into a woman. The series will follow Ben, his family and his friends as they support one another through this unexpected journey and navigate their new world with Charlie now living as Carly.

So You Think You Can Dance (8 p.m., Fox) – Auditions move to Detroit.

The Fosters (8 p.m., ABC Family) – Season 2 opens with the family dealing with the aftermath of last season’s accident.

Major Crimes (9 p.m., TNT) – Season 4 begins with the squad investigating a double homicide that is related to a string of home invasions.

Murder in the First (10 p.m., TNT) – In the second season premiere, San Francisco’s finest must work quickly after two students open fire on a school bus.

The Whispers (10 p.m., ABC) – As John continues his mission, Claire looks more closely into his identity. Meanwhile, Drill keeps playing dangerous games with unsuspecting children.

TURN: Washington’s Spies (10 p.m., AMC) – The second season ends with Abe plotting Major Hewlett’s assassination and Ben fighting at the Battle of Monmouth.
