What to Watch on Friday: ‘Killjoys’ invade Syfy channel

Killjoys (9 p.m., Syfy) – A new series following a trio of interplanetary bounty hunters who chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. 

Also on tonight . . .

Biggest and Baddest (8 p.m., Nat Geo Wild) – Niall checks out the cassowary, one of the largest, deadliest birds in the world with a reputation for killing people. A 9 p.m. episode tracks monster hogs through Louisiana swamps.

The Merry Widow (9:30 p.m., UNC-TV) – Great Performances at the Met presents Susan Stroman’s new staging of Lehar’s operetta “The Merry Widow,” featuring Renee Fleming and Nathan Gunn.

Tanked (10 p.m., Animal Planet) – Brett and Wayde build Seattle Seahawks running back and Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch the ultimate “Beast Mode” Tank.

Hangar 1: The UFO Files (10 p.m., History) – Fully investigated MUFON cases that prove just as amazing as some of the better-known stories that have become front-page news.
