First Peoples (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – This new 5-part series looks at how the mixing of genes between early humans helped us survive and thrive. Tonight’s first two installments focus on the Americas and Africa. First, an underwater discovery in Mexico provides insight into early migration to the Americas. Later, research suggests that humans evolved in many places across Africa simultaneously.

Suits (9 p.m., USA) – Season 5 starts with Harvey adjusting to changes around the office and Donna adjusting to working for Louis.

Car Matchmaker (9 p.m., Esquire) – The second season of this series, in which former “Seinfeld” writer Spike Ferensten helps people find the perfect car, begins with Spike matching the owner of a fashion marketing company to a stylish ride. One of his three suggestions is a restored 1964 Lincoln.
