What to Watch on Wednesday: New Jim Gaffigan sitcom, ESPYs

The Jim Gaffigan Show (10 p.m., TV Land) – The premiere of a new sitcom loosely based on the life and work of stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan. In the first episode, Jim, a father of five, tries to get out of a vasectomy consultation. Also stars Adam Goldberg and Ashley Williams.

2015 ESPYs (8 p.m., ABC) – This annual ESPN special, hosted by Joel McHale, celebrates the best moments of the year in sports. Caitlyn Jenner receives the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.

Operation Wild (8 p.m., UNC-TV) – In the season finale, a look at extreme dentistry on a five-ton elephant; keyhole surgery on a giant tortoise; and an invention that may help a dolphin swim.

Unsung (8 p.m., TV One) – The season ends with a profile on hip hop duo Kid ‘N Play in an episode that reunites “House Party” stars Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Adrienne Joi-Johnson and Full Force.

Wahlburgers (9:30 p.m., A&E) – Season 4 begins with Paul and his children visiting Mark and his family in Los Angeles.

Southern Justice (10 p.m., National Geographic Channel) – The second season has viewers riding shotgun with sheriff’s deputies in Ashe County, N.C. and Sullivan County, Tenn.

Mr. Robot (10 p.m., USA) – Fsociety initiates a world-changing hack on the road, while Elliot’s inner demons threaten to derail the operation.

Extant (10 p.m., CBS) – Molly finally learns the truth about her son, and Julie’s decision to wipe Ethan’s memory results in disturbing consequences.

Lachey’s Bar (10:30 p.m., A&E) – In the opener of this new reality series, Nick Lachey returns to his hometown of Cincinnati to open a bar with his brother and 98 Degrees bandmate Drew.
