Fear the Walking Dead (9 p.m., AMC) – It’s the premiere of the new “Walking Dead” origin story series, which tracks the plight of a blended family in Los Angeles as things go to heck at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. The series stars Kim Dickens (“Treme”) as the mother of two adult children and Cliff Curtis (“Gang Related”) as her boyfriend, who has a teenaged son. The intensity of the 90-minute premiere is good news for established “Walking Dead” fans, and the storyline is such that it’ll be pretty easy for newbies to jump in. Also, I really need Cliff Curtis to be in a good hit show so I can see more of him (don’t get eaten, Cliff!!). A special “Talking Dead” preview show airs at 8. Watch extended trailers for the show.
