Johnny Cash: American Rebel (9 p.m., CMT) – This new two-hour documentary about the life of Johnny Cash covers the artist’s life and music, from his first hit in 1957 to his recording of “Hurt” in 2002 and his death in 2003. Cash’s family cooperated with the documentary, which features his daughter Roseanne Cash and son John Carter Cash, as well as musicians Sheryl Crow, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Rodney Crowell.
