What to Watch on Wednesday: ‘Code Black’ debuts on CBS

Code Black (10 p.m., CBS) – A new medical drama starring Marcia Gay Harden as a doctor leading residents at the busiest ER in the nation. Unfortunately, there’s not much new here – you’ve seen this a hundred times. Read more about “Code Black.”

Criminal Minds (9 p.m., CBS) – In the Season 11 opener, the BAU interviews candidates to replace Kate. They then track a serial killer who leaves behind evidence indicating he’s intent on revenge.

Empire (9 p.m., Fox) – Cookie tries to start a small record label, but conflicting visions cause problem. Also, Lucious hires a new lawyer and records a track in jail.

blackish (9:30 p.m., ABC) – Dre considers getting a gun when a nearby house is broken into, sparking a debate on the best ways to protect one’s family.

Chicago PD (10 p.m., NBC) – In the Season 3 premiere, Lindsay’s downward spiral continues and Olinsky tells Platt a secret from his past.
