What to Watch on Thursday: Avett Bros. on ‘Chef’s Life’ finale

A Chef's Life (9:30 p.m., UNC-TV) – In the Season 3 finale, a look at the Southern Sides competition at the BBQ Festival, and the Avett Brothers visit the restaurant.

All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration (8 p.m., Fox) – Celebrity guests introduce rescue dogs available for adoption and raise awareness for dog-related issues, and also honor those who dedicate their lives to caring for animals. Country music star Emmylou Harris and rescue organizations Fences for Fido, Dogs on Deployment and Wings of Rescue will be honored.

Mom (9 p.m., CBS) – Christy is overjoyed when Violet wants to improve their relationship and spend more time together.

I Hope You Dance (9 p.m., Hallmark) – A special looking at how the song “I Hope You Dance” motivated real people to transform their lives and pursue their dreams. One of those people is Raleigh’s Suzette Faith Foster, who was paralyzed in a mountain biking accident at Lake Crabtree in 2005, suffering the same type of spinal cord injury as actor Christopher Reeve. Foster, an author, was expected to remain a quadriplegic, but she recovered. Foster has written about her experiences in the book, “Calling Back Your Power, Your Catalyst for Personal and Spiritual Transformation.”

Haven (10 p.m., Syfy) – Audrey and Dave try to save Nathan from The Void.
