What to Watch on Monday: New Years with Charlie Brown, Rudolph

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown (8 p.m., ABC) – Charlie Brown reads “War and Peace” while the rest of the Peanuts gang plan a party.

Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (9 p.m., ABC) – Rudolph comes to the rescue when an evil bird kidnaps Baby New Year.

Superstore (9 p.m., NBC) – Jonah offers to help when Cloud 9 is flooded with people who want the flu shot. Meanwhile, Amy and Carmen are asked to put on sombreros and pass out salsa samples.

East of Salinas (10 p.m., UNC-TV) – An Independent Lens documentary about a third-grader and his teacher, who are both sons of migrant farm workers. The teacher helps the young student imagine a future beyond the lettuce fields where his parents work.
