Kennedy Center Honors (9 p.m., CBS) – This is always one of my favorite shows every year. Entertainers honored this time around are singer-songwriter Carole King; filmmaker George Lucas; singer Rita Moreno; conductor Seiji Ozawa; and actress Cicely Tyson. Stephen Colbert hosts.

The Expanse (10 p.m., Syfy) – Holden and crew are caught in the middle of a battle, and Miller’s partner goes missing.

Born This Way (10 p.m., A&E) – Sean’s search for love tests his friendships, and Megan intends to make her Los Angeles trip permanent. Also, an emotional lecture prompts the parents to plan for their children’s welfare after they are gone.
