What to Watch on Friday: New ‘Sherlock’ from Masterpiece Mysteries

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson to investigate a case in 1890s London.

American Restoration (9 p.m., History) – In the Season 7 opener, the largest restoration of Bodie’s career flames out. Also, Dale’s routine tune-up on a 1946 Harley turns into a complete overhaul.

Bring It! (9 p.m., Lifetime) – Season 3 opens with Coach D determined to lead her Dolls to victory in a street battle against Compton.

Paranormal Survivor (9 p.m., Destination America) – In the Season 2 premiere, a man is assaulted by the spirits of former owners after he takes over an old farm. Also, a man is tormented by a demon for over 20 years, and a woman is attacked by the ghost of someone close to her.

Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (Antenna TV) – Starting tonight, Antenna TV will broadcast episodes of Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show,” usually in the 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. range (it varies a bit nightly). In the Triangle, Antenna TV can be found on Time Warner Cable channel 1250 and on local broadcast channels 8.2 and 17.2.
