What to Watch on Thursday: New shows for J-Lo, Jane Lynch

Shades of Blue (10 p.m., NBC) – The debut of a new drama about a detective from a group of sketchy Brooklyn cops who is arrested by an FBI agent and forced to work as an informant.

American Idol (8 p.m., Fox) – Auditions continue in Little Rock, Ark., and San Francisco.

North Carolina Weekend (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – This weekly series spotlighting N.C. destinations visits No Shame Theater in Carrboro, Stanfield’s General Store in Four Oaks and Southern Smoke Barbecue in the thriving metropolis of Garland (where I grew up!!).

Angel From Hell (9:30 p.m., CBS) – A new pilot in which a successful, driven doctor runs into an eccentric woman (Jane Lynch) who claims to be her guardian angel.

My Diet is Better Than Your Diet (9 p.m., ABC) – A new reality series in which contestants meet experts and work on losing weight.

Growing Up Hip Hop (10 p.m., WeTV) – In this new reality series, Master P puts Romeo on notice to take over his music empire.

Lip Sync Battle (10 p.m., Spike) – Season 2 opens with a face-off between Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.
