What to Watch on Sunday: Modern musical ‘The Passion’ airs live

The Passion (8 p.m., Fox) - A live musical retelling of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, but with a modern twist – it is set in present-day New Orleans. The music will also be contemporary. The all-star cast includes North Carolina native Chris Daughtry as Judas. The rest of the cast: Jencarlos Canela as Jesus, Trisha Yearwood as Mary, Seal as Pontius Pilate and Prince Royce as Peter. It’s hosted by Tyler Perry and will open and close with songs by gospel singer Yolanda Adams. Fox last staged a live musical in January, when it aired “Grease.”

The Good Wife (9 p.m., CBS) - Diane defends the father of a shooting victim after he’s charged with defamation for portraying the owner of a gun store as a murderer. Also, Alicia learns that Grace is accused of plagiarizing her college entrance essay.

The Family (9 p.m., ABC) - A child abductor’s methods resemble those of Adam’s kidnapper, and Claire presses Hank for details about Adam’s kidnapping.

The Carmichael Show (9 p.m., NBC) - Jerrod and Maxine have a pregnancy scare and discuss Plan B while locked in the basement with Jerrod’s family during a storm.

Girls (10 p.m., HBO) - Hannah and her mother attend a female-empowerment retreat, and Shoshanna gets a surprise visitor in Japan.
