What to Watch on Wednesday: Good-ish times on ‘black-ish’ finale

black-ish (9:30 p.m., ABC) – Dre is exhausted after a stressful time at work and while at home, he drifts to sleep watching a TV marathon of “Good Times.” In Dre’s dreams, the Johnson family goes back in time to the 1970s transforming into the classic TV show’s characters.

The Middle (8 p.m., ABC) – Season 7 ends with Brick’s song cut from the middle school graduation ceremony.

The Goldbergs (8:30 p.m., ABC) – Adam gains the respect of the upperclassmen when he bodyslams Barry in the Season 3 finale.

Modern Family (9 p.m., ABC) – Claire struggles to find the right time to fire an employee in the Season 7 finale.

Empire (9 p.m., Fox) – In the second season ender, Jamal refuses to make more music until his family makes peace.

Genius by Stephen Hawking (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – The first two episodes of this series start way looking at time travel and whether aliens exist.

Royal Pains (10 p.m., USA) – Season 8 starts with Hank treating a stubborn politician and the return of Jeremiah.

The Americans (10 p.m., FX) – This could be the episode where the price is paid for Paige blabbing to Pastor Tim.
