What to Watch on Friday: Olympics Opening Ceremony, ‘Kitten Games’

Rio Olympics: Opening Ceremony (7:30 p.m., NBC) – The Opening Ceremony takes place in Brazil’s iconic Maracana Stadium. It’s the first time the Olympic Games have been held in South America. Gold medal swimmer Michael Phelps will carry the flag for the U.S.

Kitten Summer Games (8 p.m., Hallmark) – A sort of spinoff of the network’s annual “Kitten Bowl” broadcast, Hallmark presents kittens competing in Olympics-style games. Cute factor will be very high.

Killjoys (9 p.m., Syfy) – Dutch’s search for the green plasma puts the team on the radar of an eccentric galactic collector.

Love Thy Neighbor (9 p.m., OWN) – Hattie’s decision to write her memoir causes unrest amongst her family and friends.

Million Dollar Matchmaker (10 p.m., WEtv)Jason Ziegler, who grew up in Rock Hill, S.C., and lived for years in Charlotte, is now an investment banker living in Dallas. Tonight, he gets Patti’s help in finding a mate.
