Kenneth Edward Cohn, Sr., 81, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014.
Born in Durham, Mr. Cohn was the son of the late Elijah Alexander Cohn and Lona Johnson Cohn. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Dan Cohn. Mr. Cohn is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Ken and wife, Tammy; brother, Joseph and wife, Kitty; granddaughter, Brooke; grandson, K.C. and wife, Meshell, as well as 4 great grandchildren, Elijah, Jacob, Silas and Allison.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Park View Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. His most cherished work was with the youth. He worked with the Boy Scouts of America serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 435 for many years. He retired from the Research Department of Liggett and Myers Tobacco Co. after 33 years.
Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and neighbor who spent his life doing for others.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Park View Baptist Church, 2500 Acadia St., Durham, 27704 with Rev. Susan Rogers officiating. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the church.
