Jearld Edward Hatfield

Jearld Edward Hatfield ascended to his heavenly Father on August 1, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. surrounded by his loving family. Jearld was born on August 18, 1946 in Mingo County West Virginia. He was from a family of eight direct descendants of the Hatfield & McCoy feud. He was a decorated and proud member of the U.S. Army Special Forces where he served and retired after 22 years of service. While in the Army he worked as an aircraft engineer, property books officer and later became a certified taxidermist. His love for nature and sports led him to pass his love to many people..He will be missed in all aspects of his life. He worked in the community and was a proud member of the Pittsboro Masons. The family is proud and honored to have been blessed with Jearld's presence in their lives.

Those left to cherish precious memories and to miss him everyday of their lives: his wife Sharon Ray Hatfield; two sons, Edwin and Dennis Soule; two daughters Dawn and Lori; three beautiful grandchildren; sisters, Judy Hatfield, Janet Cline, and Wanda Myers; mother-in-law, Rosa L Ray.

Memorial service will be at the couple's home in Pittsboro, NC on Saturday, August 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
