Virginia Wilson Crawford of Greenville, Delaware, died at her home on September 21, 2014, at the age of 88.
Virginia was born in Elizabeth City, NC, to the late John Kenyon and Bessie Weatherly Wilson. She attended St. Mary’s Jr. College in Raleigh, NC, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Virginia enjoyed and excelled at gardening and cooking. She was an avid golfer and bridge player and achieved the rank of Life Master. Before moving to Wilmington, Virginia lived in Chapel Hill, NC, and was a devoted UNC fan. She also loved her time spent at Nags Head, NC.
Of most importance to Virginia was her husband of 66 years, Eugene B. Crawford, Jr.; daughters, Beth Crawford of Wilmington, DE, Lane Crawford of Ann Arbor, MI, and Ginna Crawford Murray and her husband, Scott, of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Maggie Cannon and her husband David, Michael Walkinshaw, Paul Hurdle and his wife, Aviecse, Elizabeth Westfall and her husband, Chris, and Sandi Walkinshaw; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Griswold Home Care, Christiana Care VNA, and Delaware Hospice for their care and services.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Greenville on Saturday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of choice.
