Juanita Harmon Hamm 91, of Raleigh, NC died Monday. Juanita was married to OC Hamm who preceded her in death. A native of Sanford, Juanita was the daughter of the late Eugene Arthur Harmon and Mary Ann Williamson and sister to WE Harmon who all preceded her in death.. She attended Sanford High School, graduated from Henderson High School and Sanford Business College. She began her career working in Sanford Law Firms, Real Estate, St. Mary’s College, NC General Assembly, NC AgriBusiness Council and NC Mortuary Science. She enjoyed watching UNC play basketball with her friends and walking at the mall. She was loved by all who knew her and always had a positive attitude. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and until recently a resident of Abbotswood. Survivors include daughters Mary Ann Finch, and husband Charlie deceased of
of Morehead City and Raleigh, Susan Schoonderwoerd and husband Terry of Raleigh and son Omega Charles Jr.”Chuck” and wife Wendy of Macon, GA. She is also survived by grandchildren Kevin and Julie Finch of Kerville, TX, Charlie Finch of Knoxville, TN and Brian Finch and Lynn Headley of Raleigh, Scott and Lauren Schoonderwoerd of Raleigh. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Buffalo Cemetery in Sanford Friday at 1pm. Family will receive friends at the home of Mary Ann Finch after 4pm at 4639 Edwards Mill Rd in Raleigh.
