James L. Nutter, Sr. passed away on September 30th, at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Sarah K. Smith and stepfather, "Pappy Rich" Smith. He's survived by his four children Eugene, James, Jr., Eve, and Matthew Nutter, his six grandchildren Sterling, Matthew, Caitlin, Kyle, Jordan, and Makayla. As well as his devoted partner, Joan Champagne and their beloved dogs, Lovey and Candy.
Dad had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. He was a good friend, a great father and had a generous heart. He provided a wonderful home for his family and gave all he could to his family and strangers alike.
He loved fishing, woodworking, reading, his dogs but most of all his family. He was known for his ability to repair virtually anything. He was incredibly smart and found it perplexing when folks would go around their elbow to get to their a double s.
A celebration of life will be held at The Cremation Society of the Carolinas, 2205 E. Millbrook Rd, Raleigh NC 27604 on Saturday October 4th from 1:00-3:00pm.
