Lt Col (USAF retired) Peter Scott Hagis (45) of Sanford, NC, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on September 23, 2014. “Pete” is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Peter (Jeanie) Hagis of Hatboro, PA; his wife, Erika, and his beloved son, Killian, age 7, of Raleigh NC; his sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Dan Johnson, and his niece and nephew, Amanda and Danny Johnson of Feasterville, PA.
Pete was a graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA and the United States Air Force Academy. He lived his dream proudly serving as a pilot in the Air Force. Pete will always be remembered for his incredible intelligence, his wonderful sense of humor and his patriotism. He protected his country and her allies on multiple deployments with Special Operations Forces to Afghanistan, Iraq and other worldwide locations. Pete’s valor and skill was recognized with numerous decorations, including a Bronze Star. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be held between 5 and 7pm on October 11th at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC, 27612.
