Debra Jordan Braxton, 59, of Hillsborough died Saturday morning October 4 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. She was born in Smithfield on January 8, 1955 to Ella Thompson Jordan Price and the late Thomas Wright Jordan. Debbie was a retired educator with 30 years of experience with the Orange County Schools. She was currently a realtor with Coldwell Banker in Hillsborough.
Survivors include, in addition to her mother, her husband George Braxton of Hillsborough; sons and their wives Travis and Lesia, Brett and Amber, and Bryan and friend Lisa Tummillo, her mother in law Emma Braxton and brother in law Larry Braxton (Wanda), all of Hillsborough..
Debbie is also survived by three sisters: Pamela J. Stallings (Barry) of Wilmington, Crystal J. Kirby(Donald) of Cedar Grove and Joanne J. Brown(Steve) of Raleigh. She is also survived by two precious granddaughters, Karley and Addison Braxton of Hillsborough. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, friends, and former students.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father Thomas W. Jordan, her father in law Winfred Braxton, her maternal grandparents Leon and Gulie Toler Thompson of Pine Level and paternal grandparents Thomas and Sophronia Creech Jordan.

The funeral will be at Orange Grove Methodist Church on Tuesday October 7 at 2 PM. There will be a time a fellowship following the service in the fellowship hall. Clements Funeral Home of Hillsborough is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Orange Grove Methodist Church in Hillsborough, NC.
