Ida Beebe Eatmon Smith

Ida Beebe Eatmon Smith, age 75, unexpectedly passed away in her home on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Born in Bailey, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bernice and Nora Eatmon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. “Beau” Smith, her sisters, Dorothy Horner, Bernease McMahon and her brother, Harold Eatmon.

She graduated from Bailey High School and worked for Merrill Lynch in Wilson for 42 years. She was a member of West Nash Methodist Church in Wilson.

Graveside services will be conducted at Bailey Town Cemetery on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Stuart Milton officiating.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Eatmon of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeroma Huff of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Charlie Williams of Bailey, longtime friend; R.L. Edwards of Wilson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Shingleton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wilson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 7064, Wilson, NC 27895.
