Judith Lee Genovese Corbett, 76, of Raleigh, NC passed away peacefully October 16, 2014 in Southern Pines, NC after a courageous 10 month battle with lung and brain cancer. She was with her family as she entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Judy was born in McKeesport, PA and raised in Donora, PA. She married her husband, Joe Corbett in February of 1961. After several moves and three children, Judy and her family finally settled in Raleigh, NC in 1980 where she worked for Raleigh Family Practice for many years. She was a faithful member of Bethany Hills Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served in the church nursery. Judy truly experienced a life well lived.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Maud Genovese, and her brother Jack Genovese. Judy leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Joseph Corbett, her three children, Valerie Everette and her husband James of York, SC, Eric Corbett and his wife Tracy of Pinehurst, NC and Karin Potter and her husband Jon of Southern Pines, NC. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Jonathan Potter, Sarah Everette, Nicole Potter, Kyle Corbett and Karsen Corbett, as well as her large extended family, friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 19 at Yates Thagard Baptist Church in Carthage, NC from 2pm to 3pm with funeral services to be held at the church at 3:30pm. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines, NC.
