Phyllis M. Marion-Landais, beloved wife and mother, 68, of Fuquay-Varina, formerly of Cleveland, OH, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Duke University Medical Center.
Phyllis was born in Cleveland, OH to the late George Hirko and Elsie Mizikar Hirko. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy of The Sacred Heart in East Cleveland, OH and St. Alexis Hospital School of Nursing. Phyllis worked as a registered nurse in both the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. She was an exceptional wife and dedicated mother, known for her amazing culinary skills and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and travelling.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Dr. Gaston Marion-Landais; son, George-Henri Marion-Landais; daughters, Dr. Denisse Ambler and her husband, Troy; and Stephanie Vigie and her husband, Dominique; brother, George Hirko; sisters, Janice Sadler; Patricia Hoyt; Agnes Andrasak; and Linda Connelly; three grandchildren, Genevieve; Jackson; and Elenor.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3pm Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
