The lawsuit against Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Randall Kerrick, charged with the shooting of an unarmed man in September 2013, will go to trial a year from now.
The family of Jonathan Ferrell, who died after Kerrick shot him 10 times, sued Kerrick, police, and the city and county. The trial is set to start in federal court on Nov. 2, 2015.
Kerrick’s trial on a voluntary manslaughter charge is also expected next year.
