The nonprofit Samaritan’s Feet International gave free pairs of shoes to 150 children at the Salvation Army Center of Hope Tuesday, as part of a health and wellness event funded by the Aramark Corp. The center, which is Charlotte’s largest emergency shelter for women and children, has about 190 children and teens living in its dorms near uptown. Aramark supplied grant money and volunteers for the event. This year, Samaritan’s Feet has given away 5,839 pairs of shoes in the Charlotte area and 42,628 pairs in the United States. Mark Price
