Thomas Franklin “Frank” Pope, 78, passed away at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh on Wednesday night, November 12, 2014. Born May 12, 1936 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late William Guy Pope and the late Inez Howard Pope. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pope is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Pope and his sister, Helen Edgerton. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce Sullivan Pope of the residence.
Mr. Pope was a member of Holly Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church and worked as a Truck Driver for Overnite Transportation for 41 years.
In addition to his loving wife, Joyce, he is survived by his daughter, Sonya Pope of Smithfield, and his four sisters, Janice White and husband George of Wilson, Faye McLain and husband Charlie of Kenly, Cindy Hooks and husband Jimmy of Kenly, and Brenda P. Lewis, also of Kenly.
The Funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Chapel of Minshew-Coley Funeral Home with Visitation to be held one hour prior, 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Burial in Kenly Cemetery will occur immediately following the Chapel Service. Rev. Curtis Jones will officiate.
