Carolyn N. McKoy was born on March 17, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Robert and Beatrice Netha. She departed this life, after a short illness, at Wake Memorial Hospital, on November 14, 2014. Carolyn attended public school in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated from The Old Girls High School. After graduation, she attended Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC), in Brooklyn, NY, where she was president of the student body. Thereafter, she was united in holy matrimony to her former spouse, Earl McKoy. Carolyn and Earl relocated to Raleigh, where Earl was transferred from New York Telephone to Southern Bell. She found employment in Raleigh and, after 21 years, retired from City of Oaks, which was formally known as Britthaven Rest Home.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter, Kim Netha of Raleigh; one grandson, Rakim; and a host of nieces, nephew, family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Friday at Christian Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Kenneth D. Cooper officiating, 509 Hilltop Drive, Raleigh, NC. Visitation, 11:30 a.m. at the church.
