Mary Lyons Mitchell and Franklin Arthur Rouse, Jr., were married November 22, 2014, at five o’clock in the afternoon at Christ Church in Raleigh, NC. The Reverend H. Miller Hunter, Jr., officiated. Music was provided by David Jernigan, Organist and Choirmaster of Christ Church.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Roy Truslow Mitchell of Raleigh and the late Roy Truslow Mitchell. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hilton Hicks of Greensboro, NC, and the late Henry Lester Mitchell of Martinsville, VA, and Ruth Truslow Mitchell of Reidsville, NC.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Franklin Arthur Rouse of Morehead City, NC and the late Franklin Arthur Rouse. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Pershing Byrd and the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Earl Rouse.
The bride was escorted by her godfather, John Sherman, Jr. Maid of Honor was Sarah Lawrence Mitchell of Raleigh, NC, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mary Catherine Green of Raleigh, NC, sister of the groom and Emily Hicks Maggart of Nashville, TN, cousin of the bride.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s mother Friday evening at Sitti Restaurant in Raleigh, NC, and the reception was held at the Merrimon-Wynne House and hosted by the bride’s mother.
The bride graduated from Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, VA, and the University of Mississippi with a degree from the school of Applied Science. She is employed at Cape Fear Academy as Director of Auxiliary Programs.
The groom graduated from West Carteret High School and North Carolina State University with a degree in Business Management. He is the owner of Franklin Rouse State Farm in Leland, NC.
A January honeymoon in Thailand is planned and the couple will make their home in Wilmington, NC.
