James Willoughby Hardee, 84, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at Wake Med surrounded
by his family. He was born in Pitt County on July 15, 1930 to the late Harvey Hardee and Irene Dare Burbage Hardee. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 5, 2014 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 809 West Gannon Ave., Zebulon, 27597. Burial with Military Honors will follow. The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service in the mausoleum.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Phillips Hardee and sister, JoAnn Hardee.
Survivors: daughters: Jaymi Mangum (Earl) of Wake Forest, Kerry Seiwert (Joe) of Wichita, KS, Lori Anne Tomalonis (Kevin) of Raleigh; son, James D. Hardee (Riezyl) of Okinawa, Japan; brother, H. Douglas Hardee (Jane) of Ruther Glen, VA; brother-in-law, Marlin Phillips (Margaret) of Kill Devil Hills; grandchildren: Morgan and Amy Mangum, Kate, Sam and Emma Seiwert, Cierra and Rianne Hardee; life-long friends: Ronald & Irene Stevens of Bluefield, VA, Fred & Ruth Spencer of Chesapeake, VA and Donna Eichel of Raleigh.
