Ms. Leola “Lola” Blanchard Cartwright, 77, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Cartwright was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids and graduated from Tarboro High School. After high school, she married and moved to Tulsa, OK for a number of years, before returning to Raleigh, where she worked as a data processor for Gregory Poole Equipment Company. Mrs. Cartwright moved to Greenville in the late 1980’s and worked for several years at Brody’s and Profits Department Stores. She has lived at Red Oak Assisted Living and Ayden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Home for the past year and a half.
Mrs. Cartwright was preceded in death by her parents, James and Verdie Blanchard.

She is survived by her son, Edward Leland Wood, III, of Coats; daughter, Lori L. Wood, of Cary; grandson, Thomas Christian Hall, of Cary; sister, Ruby B. Outland, of Greenville; brothers, James Blanchard of Greenville, and Jerry Blanchard and wife, Beth, of Red Oak; and aunt, Mavis Wilson Stott and husband, Kenny, of Raleigh.
