Lorraine S. Stacy, 89, of Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community in Raleigh, NC died on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Born in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Vander Sylvester Simpson and Atha Eugenia Williams. After the death of her husband of 52 years, John E. (Gene) Stacy, she moved from Monroe, NC to Raleigh, NC to be closer to two of her three children.
Lorraine was a very caring person - she always looked for the good in every person and situation. Her favorite saying was “If you can’t say something nice about someone don’t say anything at all.”. She lived her life as an example of her Christian faith.
Survivors include her one son, Kenneth Stacy of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Mary Ann Felton (with husband, Len Felton) of Raleigh, NC and Janet Valentine (with husband, George Valentine) of Old Fort, NC; five grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the auditorium at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community, 1500 Sawmill Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615.
