Mrs. Marian Theresa Murphy Cary, age 91, passed away December 22, 2014 in the Camden Place House in Greensboro.
Mrs. Cary was born on September 17, 1923 in Friendsville, PA, to William Murphy and Agnes Matthews Murphy. She worked in her early life as a dental hygienist, however is best loved for her path as homemaker and mother. Mrs. Cary was an enthusiastic golfer, was a wonderful cook, and a smart house keeper who enjoyed bridge and loved NC State Athletics. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point and formerly a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Raleigh.
Mrs. Cary married Leo James Cary on Sept 9, 1950; he preceded her in death on August 28, 2007. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Rita Quilter and Genevieve Smith and two brothers, Gerald Murphy and Raymond Murphy. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Beaupied and husband Greg of Pittsboro and two sons, James L. Cary and wife Rebecca of Panama City, Fla. and Thomas W. Cary and wife Rose of High Point. Mrs. Cary has one brother, William Murphy of Vestal NY and seven grandchildren; James Ruth Hitch and husband Brian, Dr. Barrett P Cary, Brad Cary, Tommy and Laura Cary, Brian Cary, Andy Cary, and Jacob Hall, and two great grandchildren Elizabeth Holt Cary and Ben Brian Hitch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 29th at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Joseph C. Zuschmidt O.S.F.S.,Celebrant. The family will receive friends following the service. Inurnment will be private in the church columbarium. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Camden Place in Greensboro for their loving care shown to Mrs Cary.
