Ann was born October 10, 1930 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, the daughter of John and Lois Adams. She has one brother John Quincy Adams. Ann spent many years in Boston, where she graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Occupational Therapy and also where she met and fell in love with Carl Lee Bumgardner. At age 65 she found her life’s passion at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle where she volunteered for over 18 years and received several awards including the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award. The News and Observer once wrote an Acts of Faith article about Ann where she was quoted as saying ”The Lord, somehow, he gets food to us, and we get it to those who need it”. Above all, Ann was happiest at home surrounded by family.
