Brandon James Middleton

Brandon James Middleton of Raleigh, NC died suddenly on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, NC. He was 28.

Born on July 2, 1986, he was the son of Kevin Middleton of Rock Hall, MD and Cathy Unruh Cole of Chestertown, MD. Brandon graduated from Kent County High School, class of 2004, where he played trumpet and enjoyed drama. After high school, he attended Elon University in Elon, NC, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration and Political Science. He worked with Workplace Options in Raleigh, NC, where he was recently promoted to Director of Operational Planning.

Brandon enjoyed the outdoors; bicycling, kayaking and even sky diving. He loved music and going to concerts. He also loved exploring new places and traveled often. Brandon and Charlie recently spent a week in Iceland. Most of all, Brandon enjoyed his work and spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his partner of four years, Charlie Haz of Raleigh, NC; maternal grandparents, Donald and Theresa Unruh of Chestertown, MD; step-father, Brian Cole of Chestertown, MD; step-mother, Tracey Middleton of Rock Hall, MD; a brother, Mason Cole of Chestertown, MD; a sister, Haley Cole of Chestertown, MD; a step-brother, Brandon Mitchell of Rock Hall, MD; a step-sister, Regan Boyles of Rock Hall, MD; an uncle, Jack Middleton and additional aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Middleton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 11:00 am at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road Chestertown, MD, where relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Interment will be in Chester Cemetery following the service.
