Fred Oliver Eatman, Sr., 68, of Hampstead, NC, died January 13, 2015, in the Woodbury Wellness Center, Hampstead. Born in Johnston County, NC, he was a long term resident of Cedar Point, NC.
Fred was a US Navy veteran, devoted husband and father. After retiring in 2009 from a career in management and recruiting within the manufacturing industry, he spent the past few years volunteering and sharing his love of life with all he met.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother and father, Willis and Gladys; brother, Kenneth; and sister, Beth.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Hampstead, NC; his brother, Frank and wife, Cornelia of Louisburg, NC; his children, Nikki of Hampstead, NC, Fred, Jr. and wife, Erin, of Knightdale, NC, Brandon and wife, Erin, of Washington, NC and Julia of Kinston, NC; stepchildren Brian and wife, Jennifer, of Hampstead, NC, Chris of Wilmington, NC, and Melissa of Swansboro, NC; and 14 grandchildren.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel, 17730 Hwy. 17 North, Hampstead, NC. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
