Melba Jeans Pippin, 91, died Saturday. A native of Franklin County, she was daughter to the late Henry P. & Lessie Pearce Jeans. She was retired from Guardian Care where she worked for over 28 years. She loved farming, being outdoors, gardening & bird watching. Melba was truly caring with a great personality who loved life and fellowshipping with friends. She was a faithful member of Pilot Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, William Worth Pippin and son, John Henry Pippin.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn Hocutt (Gary), of Zebulon, Gayle Rice (Steve), of Youngsville, Virginia “Jenny” Fulbright (Rodger), of Zebulon, Lynn Pippin, (Lisa Pearce), of Zebulon, grandchildren, Kevin Pippin, David Rice (Logan), Jennifer Bunn (Justin), and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral service 3 pm, Monday, Pilot Baptist Church with visitation from 1:30 – 3 pm, Prior to the service and other time at Gary & JoAnn’s Home. Burial to follow in the Bunn Alford Upchurch Family Cemetery.
