Police in Gaston County have arrested a sister and brother they believe are responsible for a string of armed robberies Monday.
Cassie Hawkins and her brother, who police did not name, were arrested around 9 p.m. after the brother allegedly pointed a gun at a clerk and tried to rob a Kingsway gas station on Dallas-Cherryville Road in Bessemer City.
Police have not said what the pair have been charged with.
Hawkins, who was waiting in a truck at the time, is believed to have robbed three other stories throughout the day Monday.

The first robbery happened at 4:20 a.m. at a Cherryville store. The second took place shortly before 10 a.m. at the Ingles I-Market on the 700 block of W. Trade Street in Dallas. There, a woman used a handgun to rob the cashier.
The third robbery took place about 15 minutes later at a CVS pharmacy on Gastonia Highway in Bessemer City. Again, a woman armed with a gun demanded money from the cashier.
Police said video showed the same woman robbing each store.
