Frank B. Parrott, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Transitions LifeCare.
He was born in Granville Co. on June 10, 1920 to the late Thomas Macon Parrott and Lillian Cash Parrott. Frank served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was awarded 3 Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct Medal and a WWII Victory Medal. Frank was a retired merchant and also retired from Wake County School System from the Maintenance Dept. After retirement he became everyone’s handyman. Frank was known for gardening and furnishing family, friends and neighbors with fresh vegetables, especially tomatoes. He was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities. Frank was a dedicated family man instilling in his family the values of love and commitment to each other, to your country and to your God.
Funeral service 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Bethany Baptist Church, 3417 Rolesville Rd., Wendell, 27591. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545 and other times at the home of Margaret Poole Parrott, 212 Needwill Ct., Knightdale.
Frank is survived by a faithful and devoted family; Margaret Poole Parrott, Calvin Poole, grandchildren: Kimberly Parrott and her son Nolan Mattress, Kevin’s children Kasey and Kaleb Parrott; sisters: Elsie P. O’Neal, Oza P. Poole.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Naomi Ruth Parrott; second wife, Maggie Peed Parrott, sons: Frankie Parrott and Ronald Parrott; grandson, Kevin Parrott; step-son, Donnie Poole; brothers, Otis, Oscar, Harvey and Arthur Lee Parrott; sisters: Grace P. Chappell, Daisy P. Chappell.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bethany Baptist Church in Frank’s memory.
